Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honors Society, is a student organization connected with the BYU Political Science Department. With various activities throughout the year, PSA is a great way to get involved in politics, meet students, and forge relationships with professors. Some of our main activities include:
Opening and Closing Socials (for each semester)
Oktoberfest - Fall Semester gathering for students and professors and their families at Timp Lodge near Sundance.
Speak Out Debates - Monthly student debates on recent political topics
Welches and Cheese - Monthly gatherings at a professor's home where a professor discusses their research and interests
Annihilation Cup - a PSA arranged debate between college Democrats and Republicans
Closing PSA Banquet - end of Winter semester
For information on our upcoming activities, contact a member of the presidency or look at our events calendar.
Membership dues: $10. Applications should be turned in to the Political Science Secretaries on the 7th floor of the SWKT (Kimball Tower).
Membership includes monthly newsletter, e-mail invitations to all events, discount tickets for the closing banquet, PSA T-shirt discounted and other fun advantages. More than anything, the organization helps you get involved and become an active part of the Political Science department.
