David Austin is director of strategic partnerships with the UN World Food Programme (WFP), where he works with U.S.-based foundations and private sector leaders to strengthen WFP’s mission and accelerate the momentum of economic development to help reduce global poverty. Previously, Austin worked in the private sector across China and Nepal, with the U.S. Department of State in the Middle East, and led a consortium of nonprofit organizations working on food relief in North Korea. Austin received a BA from University of Washington, an MA in liberal arts from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland, and an MBA from the University of Portland in Oregon.
