Dr. Amanda Clayton: Gender Quotas and the Consequences of Women's Political Representation

The number of women holding political office has more than doubled around the world over the last twenty years. This talk explores the reasons why women's representation has increased so dramatically and what this means for public policy in countries where women are gaining more political power.

Amanda Clayton is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. She has consulted for groups such as the World Bank, USAID, and the OECD. Her work focuses on the causes and consequences of women's political representation.
