Hunger Banquet

Friday, February 28
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
WSC Ballroom

The Hunger Banquet is designed to help attendees understand global inequality. Attendees will be randomly assigned to a social class and fed a meal typical of that income level. The Involvement Fair is at 6:00 p.m., and the dinner is at 7:00 p.m.

This year’s keynote speaker is Bishnu Adhikari from Meet the Mormons, and there will be cultural song and dance performances. All proceeds will go to support work by Choice Humanitarian. At the end of the event, participants may choose a project they want their ticket revenue to support.

Students for International Development (SID) have made BYU’s Hunger Banquet a staple event at the end of Care Week for thirty years. This year’s Hunger Banquet guests are invited to reflect on the progress the world has made in that time and the work we still have left to do.
