Join the department at our biggest (and most fun) event of the year on Tuesday Oct. 5th at 6 PM for OKTERBERFEST! All political science and affiliated majors and minors are welcome. Attendees will enjoy J-Dawgs, s'mores, and entertainment from the Faculty Cover Band. Come prepared to make new friends at this fall-themed shindig and beat your favorite professors (or students) at Jeopardy. 
As part of Homecoming week, the FHSS Honored Alumni Lecture will be held this Thursday, October 7 at 11:00AM in 250 KMBL. We hope you will join us.
Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship is a highly competitive national fellowship program that provides recent college and graduate school alumni with the funding and opportunity to work with one of more than two dozen participating institutions in Washington, DC, including leading think tanks and advocacy groups that focus on international security and diplomacy issues.

Battery’s part-time on-campus Winter 2022 and Summer 2022 internship program:
Battery Ventures is now accepting applications for their Winter 2022 (Jan through Apr) and Summer 2022 (May through Aug) part-time on-campus internship. This program is run remotely and is available to undergraduate students from all schools. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as the positions fill up quickly. To apply, please fill out this application here: https://forms.gle/PgMszNp5Jq1S3DEEA. Students advancing in the process will then be contacted for video interviews. For more information on this internship, please watch this 5-min video providing an overview of Battery Ventures and this 7-min video providing an overview of what to expect in the Battery externship. Battery led JMP’s report with the most “Top 100” startups in its portfolio among any venture firm globally (see chart below).

Venture Capital Night: 
Our semi-annual Venture Capital Night will be held live in-person on Wednesday October 27th @ 7:30 PM MT in w408 of the Tanner Building on BYU Campus. Investment team members from Battery Ventures, Pelion Venture Partners, Mercato Partners, Signal Peak Ventures and other firms will be live in attendance. Food will be provided. This is an event for undergraduate students of all schools who are interested in Venture Capital. Come listen to a panel-led discussion with networking afterwards. The primary topics of conversation will include: overview on each firm, how to break into venture capital, current trends in the market, and general advice for students interested in the tech, venture capital, and entrepreneurship. 
Registration Open Now for 3 Co-Led Online Seminars
 
This semester, the New University in Exile Consortium is pleased to offer 3 co-led online seminars which are free any open to anyone. Each seminar is led by an endangered scholar hosted at one of our 36 Consortium member institutions, along side an endangered colleague (in most cases).
