The Utah Center for Legal Inclusion (UCLI) has two great opportunities coming up for pre-law students

1. UCLI Pre-law Symposium: The annual UCLI Pre-law Symposium will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the University of Utah SJ Quinney College of Law. Our keynote speaker this year will be Trina Higgins, the US Attorney for the State of Utah. The event also provides insight into the law school application process and resources available to students. There will also be sessions with law students and practicing attorneys sharing about their experiences. Other highlights include a mock law class and free professional headshots. The event is free to attend and lunch is provided. The event is open to anyone interested in attending law school. It will be particularly valuable to individuals from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds. This includes but is not limited to, women, racial minorities, members of the LGBTQIA+ communities, people with disabilities, first-gen students, and individuals from rural communities. Click here to learn more and to register.

2. Announcing the 2024 UCLI and Kirton McConkie Pre-Law Fellowship!
We are pleased to announce the 2024 UCLI and Kirton McConkie Pre-law Fellowship - a program that aims to support up to ten individuals seriously interested in the study of law. The Fellowship includes an enrichment series of ten seminars on topics related to law school, the legal field, and law school application; access to a designated attorney mentor and law student mentor; a fully paid LSAT course; and reimbursement of certain related expenses. Additional information about eligibility and programming is available here; interested individuals may apply here (note that applications aren’t due until 31 January 2024). We express deep gratitude to our donors who have made this program possible: Kirton McConkie, LSAC, Utah Bar Foundation, and the University of Utah Office of General Counsel. Please spread the word to your connections!
