Reflections on the 2022 Midterms: Thursday, November 15th at 4pm in JFSB B192, the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy is hosting a panel discussion with Professors Alejandra Aldridge, Kelly Patterson, Damon Cann from USU, and James Curry from U of U about the results from the 2022 midterms. There will be time for a Q&A from the audience at the end, and this event counts towards the FHSS experience points initiative. We hope to see you there!

Put all your social science skills to work conducting research and then present your work at the Mentored Student Research Conference at BYU. This half-day poster conference is made possible by the Mary Lou Fulton endowed chair in the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences. All undergraduate and graduate students from any department or school in the college are invited to participate. The conference gives students an opportunity to orally present their research to other students, faculty members, and the public. Cash prizes are awarded in each category and those who participate may apply to be reimbursed for graduate school applications. Submission deadline is Tuesday, November 29 at 12pm.

Government Relations Intern – Spring 2023
 
Winning Strategies Washington (WSW) is pleased to offer internships to highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, who are studying or have graduated with a degree in government, history, political science, public administration, communications, international affairs, or a similar degree. This internship is offered in person at our downtown Washington DC office and we offer full and part time internships.
 
Applicants should be motivated self-starters interested in how the private sector works with the federal government. Ideal candidates will be strong writers with at least two years of college-level courses, and will have a basic understanding of the U.S. political process. Office experience, either as an intern or otherwise, is preferred but not required.

Global Engagement Scholarship Opportunity

The Global Leaders Scholarship Fund (GLSF) works to empower Utah's young people from different backgrounds to participate in critical global conversations with peers from around the world by covering all travel expenses for a recipient to visit an international or national conference. 
The application closes on December 31st
Application Qualifications:
-        Attend (or will be attending) a Utah college or university
-        Be between the ages of 18-32

The American Enterprise Institute is now accepting applications for the 2023 AEI Summer Honors Program.

The AEI Summer Honors Program aims to provide ambitious and talented undergraduates the opportunity to study alongside some of Washington, DC’s most renowned policy experts. Participants will explore some of today’s most pressing public policy issues alongside a cohort of students from across the ideological spectrum. Outside of the seminars, students have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of scholars and commentators from think tanks and publications, and explore possible career paths in Washington.

Current undergraduates and recent graduates (winter 2022 or later) are encouraged to apply. You can learn more about the program below, including information about specific courses being offered this summer.

BYU x Northwestern Social Entrepreneurship Opportunity

The Global Engagement Summit is proud to invite social entrepreneurs from Brigham Young University to the 2023 in person-summit!

This is an entirely student-run social entrepreneurship conference held annually in Evanston, IL, on Northwestern’s campus.
