Internship Opportunity Fall 2023

The Public and International Affairs Office of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking interns for the 2023 fall semester. The internship is full-time and will last approximately 16 weeks. The internship is not paid. Preference will be given to current undergraduate students already accepted into an international studies, political science, or communication program at an accredited university, although students in other programs are also encouraged to apply. Interns should be worthy to hold a temple recommend.

Office Manager and Events Coordinator
This is an entry-level, full-time, exempt role reporting to select members of the executive team. The Office Manager and Events Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the office, assists in the planning, details and execution of Sutherland events, and supports the executive team. A successful Office Manager and Events Coordinator will be considered for opportunities to advance into other areas of the organization such as policy, communications or development, based on interest and performance.
 
The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, professional, highly responsive, willing to step forward in “all hands on deck” situations, and eager to fulfill a key role in creating a world-class operation. This position sets the tone of the office and must model exemplary focus, work ethic and commitment. A key to success will be the individual’s capability to anticipate and identify priorities.

The Database Center for North Korean Human Rights is piloting an online English-language program to educate students on North Korea and North Korean human rights issues through lectures, interactive media, Q&A sessions, etc.

NKDB is a non-governmental organization located in Seoul, South Korea. Since its establishment in 2003, they have been dedicated to investigating and documenting human rights violations perpetrated in the DPRK against the North Korean people. NKDB’s commitment to improving North Korean human rights also includes the establishment of solid first-hand networks with North Korean escapees resettling in South Korea, the provision of psychological counseling for victims of North Korean human rights violations, as well as the support of direct relief and legal assistance to North Korean escapees whose human rights are violated while in North Korea or as a result of being North Korean.
