A Welcome Message from our Department Chair
Welcome back to campus! We hope that you will help us to create a community of belonging in our department and university: introduce yourself to a new student in your class, ask professors about their research, thank student employees for their work and service. Join us in the pursuit of light and truth (D&C 93:36-37) in your academic work, extracurricular pursuits, and individual study.
- Jay Goodliffe

BYU’s 3rd Annual Richard L. Evans Memorial Lecture is just around the corner! On Thursday, Sept 15 at 7:30 in the Hinckley Center Assembly Hall, on what should be a lovely September evening, Dr. Yolanda Pierce, Dean of the Howard University Divinity School, will deliver her lecture titled “Cradle and Cauldron: Early Black American Religion and Interfaith Possibilities.” Her lecture is designed to provide a vital Black American perspective on interfaith relations both historically and at present. Given the university’s and college’s strong commitment to a vision of REB/DCI, attendance at this lecture promises to both offer helpful historical insight and make an important visual statement about broad student support for cultivating a community of belonging here at BYU.
