This semester, a luck group of 30 students are enrolled in Professor Ryan Davis' political philosophy course titled "Ms. Americana: Taylor Swift on Ethics and Society." This course uses Taylor Swift's song lyrics as a starting point to study philosophy and like all political philosophy courses, expects students to engage with philosophical readings and hone their writing skills. In addition to student interest, several local media outlets have featured Professor Davis' new course, including The Daily Universe, KUTV, Fox 13 News, and the Salt Lake Tribune.
