CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2020 G. KEVIN JONES WRITING AWARD WINNERS
Adam Roberts
1st Place Winner, G. Kevin Jones Writing Award
Adam Roberts is a political science and economics double major graduating this year. He grew up in Platteville, WI, and will be moving back to Wisconsin this summer to work at Epic. When he isn’t in school, he enjoys trying new restaurants, hiking, and has recently started rock climbing. Adam is incredibly grateful for the writing skills he has developed at BYU and hopes to continue to hone these skills in his career. The experience of having a paper published and being an editor for Sigma has been an exciting learning process that has helped prepare Adam for more professional writing in the future. After working for a few years, his plan is to pursue a Ph.D. in Political Science, with a focus on quantitative political methodology. He would like to thank Prof. Kirk Hawkins for his help on this paper, as well as the professors at BYU who have helped him become a better writer.

Anna Bryner
2nd Place Winner, G. Kevin Jones Writing Award
Anna Bryner is a recent BYU graduate from Price, Utah. She majored in communications with a journalism emphasis and minored in political science. During her undergraduate experience, Anna enjoyed competing on BYU’s Model United Nations team, writing about sports and politics for the Daily Universe, and working for BYU Law School's International Center for Law and Religion Studies. Anna served a mission in upstate New York between 2017-2019 and misses New York—except its winters—every day. During her senior year, she co-founded BYU's Freedom of Religion or Belief Club with two fellow students to help the campus community deepen and broaden understanding about current religious freedom issues. Anna is deeply interested in the intersection of law, religion, and society and plans to focus her career in this realm. In her free time, Anna enjoys hiking, playing the piano, and cheering for BYU football.
